Silver Omah: Like Daughter Like Mother

Silver Omah: Like Daughter Like Mother

When you have a mother who is into the nitty gritty of music,  including being a singer and owning a music studio, music will naturally be for you an everyday thing.

Ekene Silver Momah whose stage name is Silver Omah was born into music and has remained immersed in it ever since.

The young songstress was indeed greatly impacted by her mother who is a singer and a studio owner. Opting for music as a course and graduating from the Department of Music, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, further enhanced Omah's passion for music.

As an undergraduate Omah was actively involved in musical shows and musical collaborations.

Notedly, during her undergraduate days, she joined a music band named “Ichoku” led by Gerald Eze whose main focus was on exploring Folk Music and adapting popular songs to the Igbo traditional instruments such as the Uboaka and Oja.

In 2021, Omah met Kaycee Oguejiofor while attending a music seminar hosted by himself and Gerald Eze where they educated musicians and music lovers about the music industry.

Oguejiofor took a liking to Omah's sound and decided to sponsor her recordings which aided her career growth thus the young female music star started recording her music professionally in 2021.

A singer, songwriter, and composer, a turning point in Omah's fledgling music career, however, came in August 2023, "when I met Arch. Tobenna Ezeofor (Zeofest), the manager of Zeof Records also took a liking to my sound and introduced me to the CEO, High Chief Jideofor Ezeofor of Zeof Records.

"He too fell in love with my sound and had me record two songs, one of which I released on February 9th, 2024 as my first single named “Price Of Your Heart” in collaboration with Zeof Records"

Omah's musical career got a huge boost recently when she featured in an EP,  "Epiphany".  The EP which was released by Zeof Records, is a selection of different Afrobeat genres.

Nigerian Pastor Flees from Boko Haram

Boko Haram terrorism threats chased away Nigerian Christian preacher Pastor Sunday Igbaloju Peters from his home and church in northern Nigeria.

NEWS REPORT

Boko Haram terrorism threats has chased away a Christian Nigerian preacher, Pastor Sunday Igbaloju Peters from his base in Bauchi, Bauchi State on the basis of assassination crusade and threats by Boko Haram sect to eliminate him anywhere in the country according to the police investigation report.

Barrister Chima Obinna in Bauchi stated that the said pastor is currently seeking asylum in a European country. Boko Haram a terrorist organization has carried out series of attacks and bombings in the country including Abuja, Nigeria's capital city in the recent months. Nigerians are said to now be living in perpetual fear of falling victim to the spate of bombings, assassinations, kidnappings and other acts of terrorism in the country.

According to the preliminary police report, pastor peters' problem with the sect started on 8th February 2009 when he reported what he perceived to be dangerous to the peace of the state to the police. Boko Haram marked him for assassination as seen as police informant. Police further said that Boko Haram targeted him for four major reasons:

a) For informing the police on 8th February 2009 about their intention to over turned Bauchi state. The sect sees him as police informant.

b) For criticising against their mission to Islamize the entire nation with the force of Jihad.

c) For discouraging youths from allowing anybody or sect to use them as an instrument of violence and to pursue education because, it's the best heritage any man can get.

d) To revenge the death of their leader, Mallam Mohammed Yusuf. The sect sees him as an infidel that deserves to die. No wonder they declared many people wanted including the vice president.

The Boko Haram menace has taken a new and deadly twist, with the dreaded group issuing threats to eliminate all Christians and even Muslims currently serving in the Federal government. In the statement released by the group last week, it said: “This is a government that is not Islamic. Therefore, all its employees-Muslims and non-Muslims are Infidels.

Boko Haram is more dangerous than rabid dogs and should be destroyed. The
members should be crushed and not cuddled. They should not be understood; there is no method in their madness.

The sect’s campaign of violence, at once indiscriminate and selective, has dislocated normal life in many parts of the country. Maiduguri is like a city under siege. There is fear and there may soon be a shortage of food.

Bomb exploded by Boko Haram have killed close to 100 people in the last few weeks. Many members of the uniformed forces have been shot dead in targeted killings. Boko Haram members have also enjoyed a turkey shoot in Bauchi.

Boko Haram attacked the headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Abuja in June. About eight people were reportedly killed in the bomb blast and dozens of cars were burnt.

It was gathered that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was thrown at a moving military patrol van near Fannah Dori Filling Station along Baga road in Maiduguri. The atmosphere of insecurity currently inflicted on the nation by the Boko Haram crises points to poor use of pre-emptive intelligence and a coherent strategy in the management of the security issues arising.

The group is not easy to monitor, according to Human Rights Watch researcher Eric Guttschuss. “Since 2009 the leadership has gone underground. It’s now unclear what the exact command structure is.”

A spokesperson for Boko Haram told reporters in June that members had received training in Somalia. Okechukwu Nwanguma, programme coordinator with non-profit Network on Police Reform in Nigeria (NOPRIN), said this could indicate Boko Haram has “a link with the global terror movement”.

Other reports have suggested the same thing, saying Boko Haram already has links to international terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda, and has the potential to link with Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) which operates in nearby regions.

The Muslim Woman Who Saw Jesus!

The Muslim Woman Who Saw Jesus!

Millions of people are still perishing in ignorance of the Truth of Jesus Christ, because of their unbelief and being misled by false doctrine and false religion. That is why I have to remind them of the awesome testimony of Gulshan Esther, a Muslim girl, imprisoned by her religion and severe disability, but was healed and set free by Jesus Christ HIMSELF!

You should also read the book of her unforgettable testimony The Torn Veil: The Best-Selling Story of Gulshan Esther

A true story of freedom and miraculous healing as a Muslim girl finds faith in Christ

When Gulshan Esther, a devout Muslim girl, was six months old, typhoid left her a cripple. Her loving father took her from Pakistan to England to find a cure, but the only hope the British specialist could offer was prayer. Gulshan and her father made pilgrimage to Mecca and begged Allah for healing, but it was not until her father’s untimely death that Gulshan began to receive an answer. In her grief she wanted to die, but as she called out to God, for the first time in her life she sensed she was being heard. She heard a low, gentle voice say, "I won’t let you die. I will keep you aliveÖI am Jesus, son of Mary."

As Gulshan began reading the Quran, her interest in Jesus grew, until one amazing night he appeared to her in her bedroom in a blaze of light. He restored her crippled arm and leg and taught her The Lord’s Prayer. He told her to go to his people—now her people—and tell them what he had done. Since that time, and to this day, she has been a joyous, obedient disciple of Christ. The Torn Veil is an amazing story of faith and determination.

This moving autobiography was first published in 1984 and has sold over 200,000 copies worldwide.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has built a mosque

Olusegun Obasanjo is an enigmatic politician

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has built a mosque beside his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta. The former president has already built a 1000 seater church, Chapel of Christ the Glorious King within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).

According Afis Oladosu of the Friday Worship column on Islam in The Guardian of Nigeria, the news was broken by an elder in a mosque where he observed the Jumuat service last Friday in Lagos.
“Don’t ever say a man is a disbeliever in Allah. Obasanjo has built a mosque. I attended the opening ceremony together with some Moslem scholars from Ilorin!” The elder said.
Afis said the listeners were shocked and wondered why Obasanjo was doing so when he is not a Moslem.
“Since when did Obasanjo become a Christian philanthropist?”
“What is wrong in the donation of a mosque by Obasanjo to the Moslems? Is this mosque not a Greek’s gift? “
“Did Obasanjo say he has become a Moslem? “ Afis asked.
The man shook his head in the negative.
“Did the Moslems ask him to build a mosque for them?”
The man was not sure.

Afis concluded that the mosque built by Obasanjo is “reminiscent of Masjid Dirar, built by Abu ‘Amir - a political mosque, a mosque built to “settle” the Moslem segments of Ogun State, to solace them to forget the injustice being visited on them by Ogun politicians, who appear to have the notion that no Moslem is worthy of being a governor of the state as yet? Is this mosque not a metaphor for the money usually given to the electorates by politicians in order to corner their conscience, corrupt their vision and appropriate their votes?”

And as for those, who put up a mosque by way of harm and disbelief and to disunite the believers and as an outpost for those, who warred against Allah and His Messenger aforetime, they will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good. Allâh bears witness that they are certainly liars. Never stand you therein... (Quran 9: 107).

Growing Number of Americans Who Say Barack Obama is a Muslim

9 Aug 2010 05:01 Africa/Lagos

New Pew Research Center Survey Reveals Growing Number of Americans Who Say Barack Obama is a Muslim

WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life finds that a substantial and growing number of Americans say that Barack Obama is a Muslim, while the proportion saying he is a Christian has declined. More than a year and a half into his presidency, a plurality of the public says they do not know what religion Obama follows.

According to the survey, nearly one-in-five Americans (18%) now say Obama is a Muslim -- an increase from 11% in March 2009. Only about one-third of adults (34%) say Obama is a Christian, a sharp decrease from 48% in 2009. Fully 43% say they do not know what Obama's religion is. The survey was completed in early August, before Obama's recent comments about the proposed construction of a mosque near the site of the former World Trade Center.

The belief that Obama is a Muslim has increased most sharply among Republicans (up 14 points since 2009), especially conservative Republicans (up 16 points). But the number of independents who say Obama is a Muslim has also increased significantly (up eight points). There has been little change in the number of Democrats who say Obama is a Muslim, but fewer Democrats today say he is a Christian (down nine points since 2009).

The new poll, conducted between July 21 and Aug. 5 among 3,003 respondents, also examines the link between Americans' perception of Obama's religion and their opinion of his job performance, and covers views on the President's approach to religion, including the influence of his religious beliefs on policy decisions. In addition, the survey explores Americans' attitudes toward churches' involvement in politics and religion's influence on American life and government, and looks at religion's impact on voting preferences for the upcoming 2010 congressional races.

The report, including a summary and topline questionnaire, will be accessible on the Forum's new Web feature, "Religion & Politics 2010," which provides a variety of election resources, including:
-- Poll analyses and survey reports on topics related to the midterm
elections
-- Links to news stories about religion-related issues impacting 2010
congressional and gubernatorial races around the country
